2225 South: Arrest - O&R / Vehicle Burglary / Att. Grand Larceny / Poss. of Dangerous Weapon @ Lymberry & Grove St.
Officers observed subjects ducking behind vehicles and when they went to make contact the subjects attempted to flee. Officers located one of the suspects and learned he had just burglarized a vehicle in the area. Michael Harrell, DOB 10/6/1993, was arrested on the above charges. The suspect had just been trespassed and escorted off the property but refused to leave and jumped the fence back onto the property. Officers attempted to conduct a stop on an occupied stolen vehicle but the driver continued driving until striking another occupied vehicle. The suspect then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Wayne Russell, DOB 8/22/1962, was arrested on the above charges.

The suspect pushed open the victim’s door and walked inside. But when he was confronted by another resident he fled. The suspect then attempted to flee from officers upon their arrival. Eric Washington, DOB 6/18/1980, was arrested on the above charges.

Employees arrived to find the building had been entered and copper wiring and pipes had been stolen. There are no suspects at this time.

The victim and the suspect were parked next to each other in their own vehicles when words were exchanged. The suspect then produced a gun and fired a shot into the ground next to the victim vehicle. The suspect is described as: H/M/A, mid twenties to mid thirties, 5’6” tall, 250 lbs., bald, LSW a black shirt over a white shirt and black pants.

Earlier in the morning the victim had been involved in a financial dispute with another subject. Later that same morning the suspects arrived and began to bang on the victims door causing one pane of glass to break. The victim attempted to flee into the backyard but one of the suspects jumped the fence and battered him and stole his phone. The suspects are described as: #1 B/F/A, mid thirties, 5'6” tall, 130 lbs., black hair, LSW blue jeans and red boots. #2 B/M/A 6' tall, thin build, glasses, black hair, LSW a brown hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. #3 B/M/A, 5'8” tall, heavy set.

Officers located an unoccupied, stolen, Honda Accord in the parking lot. Officers conducted surveillance on the vehicle and noticed another stolen Honda pull into the parking lot. One suspect fled and one was arrested. Arrested on the above charges was Hugo Lozano, (DOB 8/25/92).

Victim was attempting to sell a cell phone to a party inside of a vehicle. A second party entered the vehicle. Victim was robbed at gunpoint but was able to escape the vehicle. Suspects are described as #1: WMA, 5’10”, medium build, Late 20’s; and #2: BMA, 5’10”, medium build, mid 20’s, LSW: blk hat and denim jacket. Vehicle is described as: Wht Toyota Scion with broken passenger window.

Officers responded to a business for a burglary alarm and found the door unlocked. Entry had been made through a skylight. Loss is undetermined.

Officers responded to shots fired. Casings were found in the street. Upon further investigation, officers learned that the shots came from a chase between two vehicles. Vehicles were described as: #1: Older model, blue Cadillac type vehicle with white top and spare tire built into trunk, described as a “low rider” and #2: White newer model Saturn passenger car. No injuries reported at this time.

The victim and the suspect have been having an ongoing feud. Each party gathered friends for a fight. During the fight, one of the suspect’s friends pulled a gun on one of the victim’s friends. Suspect group fled upon police arrival. Suspect with gun is described as: BMA, 19-21, 600, medium build and brn curly hair.

Reno, NV— Since January 17th, 2017 the Reno Police Department Detective Division and the Regional Crime Suppression Unit (RCSU) have been actively investigating a series of window smash commercial burglaries in the Reno/ Sparks area. In this time period, multiple burglaries have occurred during the early morning hours where a rock was used to break the windows to businesses in the area. The suspect then enters and targets the cash registers in the stores. On several occasions multiple businesses were hit in the same evening. Video surveillance depicted a specific vehicle being used which was used to link the cases together.

On February 27th, 2017 Officers with the Reno Police Department were proactively looking for the vehicle and were able to stop the vehicle and identify the occupants. Further investigation by detectives from the information gathered in the traffic stop showed that the listed suspect was responsible for the 11 listed commercial burglaries.
On March 9th, 2017 the listed defendant was contacted once again in the vehicle. The defendant was interviewed and arrested for the listed charges.

The first victim was approached by the armed suspect who demanded her purse. When the victim yelled a passerby attempted to follow the suspect as he was fleeing but the suspect then threatened him with the gun as well. The suspect is described as: W/M/A or H/M/A, with longer black hair, possibly in a pony tail, a thin mustache, LSW a large black jacket and gray shirt.

The victim has been involved in a dispute with a subject but tonight the subject arrived with 2 other subjects. After threats were made the other subjects shot at the victim. The suspects are only described as: 2 H/M/A, late teens.

Detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and Sparks Police Department continue to investigate an officer involved shooting that occurred last night on Kietzke Lane in Reno.
At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017, officers with the Reno Police Department initiated at traffic stop on Kietzke Lane just north of Peckham Lane.
According to what investigators have learned, as officers contacted the vehicle occupants, at least one shot was fired from the vehicle injuring one of the Reno Police officers. Two males then exited the vehicle. Shots were fired, one of the suspects was injured and the other fled on foot.
The injured Reno Police Officer and suspect were both transported to Renown Medical Center for treatment. The suspect was declared deceased at the hospital. The officer is reported to be in stable condition.
Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies continue to search for the second occupant of the vehicle. He has been identified as Erick Bernal, age 17. Bernal is described as a male Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches tall and approximately 135 pounds with shaved hair. A photo of Bernal is attached to this press release.
Bernal is considered a public safety risk. Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact 911 immediately.
The Washoe County Regional Officer Involved Shooting Protocol has been activated and the Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency. Anyone with information that may assist this investigation is asked to call the Washoe County Sheriff's Office at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
